wow! a lot of red white and blue
The film is nuts but thoroughly endearing in an off-the-wall way. Hard to reconcile the same guy who photographed this beautiful, lavish piece of technicolour art cinema, also shot A Bout de Souffle with it’s grainy, documentary-style black and white. Obviously a very versatile man!
Theres an amazing range of styles visible in the collaboration between Coutard and Godard, I hope to post some more soon
